Dr. Robert Gardère has been an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (A.S.P.S.) since 1980. One of the requirements of membership in the A.S.P.S. is board certification in plastic surgery. Dr. Gardère was certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1972. The A.S.P.S. considers certification by the Royal College to be equivalent to certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.

In medical school Dr. Gardere was the recipient of the prestigious Geigy award for the highest standing in clinical medicine. During his training he was voted best intern. Dr Gardere did his plastic surgery training in the Toronto program, considered one of the best in the world. With 33 years of experience, Dr. Gardere in known not only as a perfectionist but as a physician who really cares about his patients.
